Dear Friends,  We are organizing a 3-day event called Nepalese SummerFest (http://www.nepalesesummerfest.... Memorial Day Weekend 2012) dedicated to bringing our community together for a joyous weekend. There have been some questions raised regarding Nepalese SummerFest and we would like to clarify this. 1. Are you guys affiliated to any political organization? NO. We do not have any poiltical affiliation or affiliation to any political organization or any other organizations.  2. Who is organizing this event?  We are a group of young Nepalese Professionals living in DC Metro area. In the past years we have attended several similar events and we have experienced mismanagement, political differences, lack of care for the attendees, price fluctuation of tickets,  inexperience of the event planners, the quality of programs and services offered. We got tired of complaining year after year so this year we decided to start our own event to fix all these problems.  We have been working hard at it since August 2011 to ensure that we fix all the problems that we have encountered. We want to provide a GREAT event for the Nepali community to come together and have a memorable and joyous weekend.  4. What do we need? YOUR SUPPORT!!! Nepalese SummerFest is being organized for you and the Nepali community. We have put a lot of effort in making this an awesome event and we ask you for your help in making this a success. Please support change, development, and improvement. Please spread the word by putting a status update as Nepalese SummerFest on facebook, change your profile pics, make it a conversation starter, send emails to your friends, invite your friends to our event (http://www.facebook.com/events... or just about anything that helps to spread the word. Some of the things we are doing different are: > NO REGISTRATION FEE (We don't think it is right to charge people $15.00 to $20.00 just to come and socialize with friends); > PRICE CONTROL (When an event gets to be fully booked, we will not jack up our prices and charge you extra);  > QUALITY CONTROL (we will not compromise quality in any of our  events); > FREE BOOTHS FOR SELECTED NON-PROFITS (We do think it is right to charge $350.00 to a non-profit organization who is doing great work for our Nepalese Community in Nepal and here); > HEALTH ASSESSMENT (We want to educate our community there are healthcare options for those who are uninsured ); > CAREER/ PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING (We want to help people in our community find jobs or connect with people in similar fields);  >  BETTER MANAGED SPORTS EVENT (Our athelets deserve well managed programs and recognition.
