I have been here for quite a while and I see myself staying for years to come. Having said that, I totally support your decision. If you can work hard, have ideas then you can make it anywhere. For many of us, raising our kids in US culture is a concern; this will no longer be the case with you. As long as you understand that it will not be easy and all the shortcomings associated back home, you will be fine. Just don't give up with one failure, keep trying and good luck.

 did you mange to save 30 lakhs in Nepal, buy land and save enough money for average marraige all while being on student visa in USA for 4.5 years?

US_Nep, Like others have mentioned, from what you have posted in your initial post, the arguments for going back to Nepal seems quite strong. What are the reasons that you would even consider being in the States? In your circumstance, what are the positive reasons why you would stay in the States?

 this is the wrong place for your query. you should talk and seek the advise of your parents :) and just for the heads up, your 30 lakhs might be a huge sum to go shopping in nepal, but isnt much if ur thinking about getting married , building a house and starting your business.  best wishes :)

I mean to stay is : its been more than 6 yrs I m in the STates and I did finish up my Engineering in 4.5 yrs and its been almost 2 yrs I been working in a good company with good pay. I started saving and sending money once i started the job in my Engineering field.  Thank you !!!

 manson:: My parents are not well educated but still they are very welcoming and they are ready to acept me to be in Nepal and see me doing some better in the country.... all they tell me is: We believe you know what you are doing... so we welcome your any decision that you think is wise and fruitful!!!!  That is a strong point from them and I am all good with that.  Another thing is : I have money for the marriage which is separate from 30 lakhs.... 30 lakhs is just cash balance which is my backup in case i plan to go back and start up something.  I have already bought the land-paid off...... I have put aside some reasonable money for marriage....  and in addision I have 30 in cash.... that;s what I mean...... and You are definatley right... if i had only 30 lakhs... i could have done the BEST shopping but forget about the rest..... but this is not the case my friend - thank you anyway and i wish a very best future to you as well ::))

 us_nep Its always pleasure to  hear people planning to go back. After all we don't belong here and most of the people they don't realise that or just ignore the fact. To be honest with you, if I were you I would't even think twice ...I would just go back. I always dreamed to be in you situation. Trust me there are many more who would love to go back if they are in your situation.   What I know is that "U'll see what you wanna see". If you think about all political instability going on in our country then probably u'll never wanna go back. But there are several othere things that you need to consider before making any decission. Basking in a sun, reading paper in a Lazy saturday, laid back life, dashain, tihar, holi, family, friends, nice sunny weather, watching TV shows with family, these stuffs may sound nothing but I believe we need these things to be happy from inside.    Since you already have plans and vision and even back up for the hard times, you should be just fine. After all you have an engineering degree and a hand full of money too. If nothing works out you can still work as a teacher or rent your house to generate extra income. I dont think it would be really that hard to survive. Every one is doing it, why cant you. All it need is a state of mind. If you think  your strong enough then go for it. Our country need people like. If all the people like you wanna settle here then who gonna lead the next generation of our country. Lets not surrender our country to the hand of dirty politicians.   Just curious...which engineering field are you in??

What about you???? ya- surviving should not be hard at all.. i m sure for that.... plus I do not wanna run after american life and money here as well.... god knows if I will regret in the future for leaving everything behind and going to Nepal (being hhmm so-call patriot... lol.. ) Besides being country lover,,,, i love the way of living, culture, society , family and i miss all that.... those days were the best then the days here now..... one way or other way.... we need to loose something.... so I m weigting right now.... if I decide.... I shall move to Nepal by August 2012.... lets see.... I m debating on every aspects and talking and gettings suggestions and opinions with my frens, relatives, family and myself and yes of course few of my best frens....  "Everything happens for a good reason".... this is waht i believe in... so I m not worries....
