You very well know that any estimate we give won't be good unless you provide us more information. How many people in the family? Where are you planning to stay? LA/NY might cost almost twice compared to living in the mid/south region. How big are the kids? I am assuming bare minimum cost is being asked, so public transport will be assumed.
