No, nagarikta is your proof of citizenship birth certificate is different. You should have birthcertificate in Nepal, it is often reffered to as janma darta/ or janma darta ko pramanpatra. I had my birth registered at nagarpalika of my district. I got my nagarikta , birth certificate everything from nagarpalika.

When you translate your nagarikta, the translator wont write "birth certificate", he will write "Nepali citizenship". Narakita and birth certificate are two different things.

http://www.immihelp.com/birth-... please be honest, why are we always looking for crook ways even for staright foward things? like someone up there said it's not worth takign the risk. for immigration matters, providing the faulty documents can mean they can deny your current and any future applications so be careful. it's very simple and painless too unless you have lied in your previous applications and now have to cover for it, then i have no advise for you. you need your someone to go to your nagarpalika and they can get you one right away , costs like 100 rs... i just got one like a month ago too from naxal wada and now a days they make it in English and it says birth certificate from kathmandu nagarpalika so no tranalation is require since the original is in english. few years ago it wasn't the case and they used to make it in Nepali so you would have to get it translated and notoraized. for immigration make sure you have it stamped and read my link up there it tells what are the requirements. it's one of the docs they are really strick about because if you get away stating you're 17 and you're actually 30 then your age becomes 17and you have right to be a minor.. good luck... oh btw, you can get it in a week if you have someone dhs or fedex it... plus for immigration you only need a copy so you can even have them fax or scan and sent via email...

it's simple now a days, most nagarpalikas will get you one right away without a hassle for like Rs100 and in English too so no need to translate. you can have it faxed or sent via email . for immi. u only need a copy. don't lie , you'll be fked.. for real...

if you're getting married you only need to show your id... like state issued id or even passport...
