I recently visited Nepal after many years and I saw a lot of major changes. Tonnes of houses and cars and fancy motorbikes. I remember back in the 90's a person was considered 'rich' if he had a marble in his house or if they had a nicer motorcycle. Nowadays everyone has a 3-4 story house and a large majority of have a vehicle. I went to Ktm, Pokhara, Butwal and Bharatpur and its the same story everywhere. It seems like there's a new generation of people in Nepal who are quite well to do...sabai ko ghar ko price is in the crores. I know around the world Nepal is seen as one of the 'poorest' countries in the world. But when I went back after a while, it seemed that we aren't really THAT poor...your thoughts?

euta manchhe lai chahine day-to-day life ko basic needs major chunk of population lai accessible chhaina. tapaile jati pani experience garnu bho tyo bhaneko negligible percentage sanga thiyo. Still berojgari one of the prominent problem existing in Nepal. Pay ramro chhaina...chhora chhori lai kasari padhaune...especially when it is the matter of higher studies. mahangi testai chha...its almost comparable to as in US now. Law and order/Security is not so firm Health If you started to make a list..it never ends. Dui char janale moj garyo bhandaima sabai jana testai chhan bhanera sochnu bhayena. Ha ha......... I have nothing but laugh about so called "Nepal ko sarkar garib chan janta dhani". Wow, are u nuts? Just because you see some poor people in some countries or some poor college students you think nepalese are rich. Nepal is poor country in terms of monetary wealth. Thats why it's one of the poorest country of the world. Where do u see wealth in Nepal? Just becoz few people can afford some luxury does not mean its wealthy. It's because of 'Sampling Error'. Yes! But we should not be discouraged by it. We do have a culture of giving importance to education, family and also we are ready to adapt new things so it definately helps us develop faster. As we can see that there are countries richer in monetary wealth but due to poverty in thinking are in worse condition than us.Slowly and steadly, it is being developed. And if all of us try in our own ways to contribute to our country and not only our country but whole world. This world would definately be a better place to live.

not really nepal is pretty much rich in environment point of view i.e outside kathmandu . for sure inside kathmandu the value of house and land is like 1 crore everywhere which is really good thing . i agree with hakim saab we are actually rich . but we don't have good road and busses though i mean have you travelled in nepal yatayat back in those days when i was in kathmandu i never got seat in nepal yatayat i used to stand in the with one leg in door in that point we are poor because over here i seat in bus relaxed way better than cars in kathmandu , nepal . don't know much about butwal and bharatpur though . but we don't need central heating over there which is good thing . ya we are not that poor as people think we are. i mean cigerrate cost 10 rupes for 1 packet khukuri it cost like 1000 rupees over here so we have lot of plus point . no we are rich hakim saheb for sure .
