 दशैं हट्यो सारा हिलो मैलो हरायो पानीको वर्षा भवानीको भयो पूजा चल्यो आनन्दको वर्षा जता जाउ उतै भन्छन् दशैं आयो दशैं आयो यही आनन्द चर्चाले सबै संकष्ट बिर्सायो ठूला साना सबैलाइ दशैं अत्यन्त राम्रो छ चलेका चाडमा ज्यादै यही उत्कृष्ट हाम्रो छ सबै अत्यन्त आनन्दी सबै छन् पिङमा दंग सबैको देखिंदै आयो उज्यालो चेहरा रंग –लेखनाथ पौड्याल दशै नमनाएको पनि ५ बर्ष भएछ। अब दशै पनि एउटा कथा जस्तो भयो। ५ बर्ष अगाडि दशै मनाउदा घरमा हजुरआमा हुनुहुन्थ्यो दिदी बहिनी सबै  थिए अब हजुरआमाले पनि संसार छोडेर जानु भयो अनी दिदी बहिनी बिहे गरेर आफ्नो घर तिर लगे। घरमा बिचरा आमाबुवा मात्र हुनुहुन्छ। आमाले हिजो फोन गर्नु भयो अनी सुक्क सुक्क गर्दै भन्नु भयो "ल बाबु यो पाली को दशैमा पनि टिका लाउन नपाईने भयो। अब कहिले आउछस दशैमा घर?" आमालाई केही भन्नै सकिन। मनमनै भने "आफुले भनेको जस्तो हुने भये त अहिले आउथे तर के गर्ने हुँदैन। अझै कतीवटा दशै छुत्ने हो केही थाहा छैन।"

कुरा सुनेर घत् लाग्यो | आमालाई अस्ती फोन गरे, आमाले दशैको शुभकामना दिनुभो र भन्नु भो  "बार बर्षमा त खोला फर्कन्छ भन्छन, अब त तिमी सँग दशै नमनाको पनि धेरै भो, २-३ बर्षमा त बार बर्ष पनि पुग्छ तेस पछी त सँगै परिवार दशै मनाउन कसो नपाइएला एक दिन" भन्दा तुरुक्क आसुँ झर्यो र रात भरी कुरा खेल्यो मनमा: दसैंको स्कुल छुट्टी, टन्न होमवोर्क, साथीहरु, धागोमा माजा, चङ्गा,धानका बाला, दुर्गा पूजा, भागवती मान्दिरहरु, बिहान् बिहान् हुस्सु, फूलपातीको बडाइ, अस्टमीको बोका, नवमीको खसी, लंगूर्-बुर्जा, नयाँ लुगा, टिका, मामा घर, सुनसान काठमाडौं...............

I feel sad for you but I've learned to live happily and adapt with the festival here. Just because you miss dashain doesn't mean you be sad, common folks, be part of the society where you are living and you will equally feel festive even on christmas, new year, thanks giving, you name it. I know you miss dashain, so do I miss my culture there.. but .. just saying.. :D thanks for reading these words .. Happy dashain to all

Busenitz, I read it when I am in class, and Tears rolled down my eyes, literally. Try to find some Dashain programs organized by Nepalese around your area and see if that makes you less nostalgic.
