Hello my dear friends, I am having a serious problem with my F1 status. Right now I am out of status and  I have to join college. I need to write an appeal. I dont know how to write it. If anyone has any idea abt this or knows abt the colleges that reinstate students in October , then please share it  in this post or send me an email. Thank you in advance, Peaceinheaven

Peaceinheaven, Here's a template that might work for you and others who are in same situation: [Date]   USCIS California Service Center P.O. Box 10539 Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-1053   To Whom It May Concern:   I am a student requesting reinstatement to F-1 student status. I [plan to enroll/or am currently enrolled] at ____________ University for full-time study during the [Fall/Spring/Summer] semester.   I realize that I have failed to maintain my full-time F-1 student status and would like to explain the circumstances, beyond my control, which prevented me from enrolling in [12 undergraduate/6 graduate] credit hours last semester.   [Explanation of Circumstances]: ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________.   I would like to state that I have not been employed during this time, as I do not have authorization to do so.   Your consideration of my request for reinstatement will be greatly appreciated. I would very much like to continue my education in the United States and complete my degree in [major].   I am enclosing with this letter: • Form I-539 • $290 fee • Original I-20 for Reinstatement • Original I-94 • Copies of immigration documents: previous I-20, passport • Evidence/documents to support my case • Financial documents to prove I have sufficient funding to study at ____ University • Transcript showing full-time enrollment   Sincerely, Rajesh Hamal [signature] Very Important: Don't be afraid to talk to the staffs/director at the international office in your current school or the school you will be applying to.

Does anyone knows about the colleges that reinstate in October?

peaceinheaven · Sep 25, 2011 11:32 AM

Anytime brother. Let me know if you have any questions. I have seen many of my friends' F-1 status reinstated, so it's not a big deal. The big thing is the explanation of circumstances, which I believe you already know. Any additional evidence is always good.

You might be able to get your I-20 issued for Spring session at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Talk to Julie Rabaey at the International Center there. She is very helpful and has handled a lot of cases like these before. The good thing is that USCIS at Bloomington, Minnesota (70 miles of Mankato) handles reinstatement pretty quick. Check with her ASAP. Here's the link for the international center at Mankato: http://www.mnsu.edu/internatio... Good luck!

@peaceinheaven: Its better to talk with the international advisor of your previous university or some of the universities or may be community colleges. I heard there are some universities in Dallas where they can help u  to reinstate. Are there any one who have been in same situation? ????? Hope u will figure out pretty soon dearie.
