Hi Guys, I need your Help ASAP !! I want to go to nursing school. But here in Texas, they require SSN in order to enroll for the program. I'm so disappointed as I cannot get one in my visa-type (H4). Does any of you know if there is such program in Health field where SSN is NOT required? Please suggest me.. I am so disappointed now. They had told me that I could apply for the program without SSN but should get it before N-CLEX exam. So, I started doing the pre-requisite course for BSN program, thinking that I might get one before the exam as I had 3 more years to get to that place. I've already completed most of the pre-requisites of BSN program and now, I got to know that they need SSN in order to enroll for the program. Damn!!! Any Suggestions??? Please!!

Why don't you change your status to F1 so you can get few hours of on campus job and SSN.

Why you are panicking so much!! There is a great website called google.com. have you ever used that website instead of freaking out? Change your status from h4 to f1 and get on campus job and get ssn

Thank you both of you. @ Ihateamerica, I agree with you. I hate AMERICA too. ;) Yeah, you are right. I tried to do so. And you think I am so dumb that I didn't google it? I had to fill up two applications: 1 for the university and 1 for the School Of Nursing (SON). I got accepted in the university for SPRING 2012, but when I tried to fill up for SON, they asked me for my SSN. I couldn't even complete my application without it. And the deadline is so near. Now, if I changed my status to F1 and get a job, it will take time (not before Spring). If I couldn't apply for nursing for Spring, what happens to the acceptance letter that I got from the university? Will it be dismissed? The main campus is in Denton and SON is in Houston (where I live). Shall I go to Denton, get F1, a job and apply for next semester OR just apply for other universities for NON-Health programs in Houston? OR shall I wait ? I even called the International Affair Office, but they told me that you need to get a SSN in order to get into College of Nursing. WHat shall I do? What might be the better option?
