Hello Guys, Some one has the following condition and questions. He is a permanent resident of Unites states since Nov. 2006. As per the simple rule, he can file for the Citizenship after completion of 4 years and 7 months residency (90 days before complection of 5 years). He just back from Nepal 2 weeks before with legal marriage certificate from CDO office (Ditrict Administration Office). Now questions are: 1. Where, When and how to provide marriage certificate from Nepal to US office (need office name and procedure to file the marraige)? 2. In the mean time ( 5 years time), he lived in nepal for 3.5 months. It gonna count or not? 3. Do you guys suggest him to consult Immigration lawyer for this work? 1. No need to file marriage anywhere. Nepali marriage certificate works fine everywhere. 2. As long as he stayed less than 6 months outside he is fine. 3. I don't think he needs immigration lawyer. To file citizenship download N400 form and read instructions. It's plain and simple.
