A friend of mine living in the US with me wants to know more about US VISA renewal. The US embassy in Nepal issued a 5 yr visa and one can stay in the US without exceeding 6 months at one time. What is the process or any form to fill out so that the stay can be extended for another 6 months. thank you

Home > Visit the United States > Extend Your Stay Printer Friendly Extend Your Stay If you want to extend your stay in the United States, you must file a request with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on the Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status before your authorized stay expires. If you remain in the United States longer than authorized, you may be barred from returning and/or you may be removed (deported) from the United States.
