Late President Girija Prasad Koirala of Nepali Congress and Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of Unified Maoists Party, claims Drishti Vernacular Weekly dated July 14, 2011, were also hand in glove in the Sudan corruption case. Thrilling revelation. The report refers to high placed political sources and claims that in the embezzlement of Rs 280 Million, Late Koirala had his “pocket” share of Rs. 50 Million, Dahal had Rs. 60 Million, Girija’s daughter Sujata Koirala-Jost had Rs. 30 Million, the then home minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula with Rs. 15 Million and home secretary Umesh mainali with Rs. 7.5 Million. Grand loot. The story runs like this: The government of Nepal had authorized the Sudan Nepal Police mission in 2007. Following the government decision, a meeting took place between Pushpa Kamal Dahal-the revolutionary and Girija Prasad-the champion of democracy. Koirala died on March 20, 2010. May his soul rest in peace. It was in the same meeting Koirala had proposed Dahal to hold CA elections in November 2007. Prachanda complained by saying that it will be very difficult for his party because the party lacked enough fund to go to elections. Koirala immediately summoned the then Nepal Police Chief Om Bikram Rana and asked him to manage some fund for Dahal. Rana assured Koirala that he will act as per his advice and committed that he will manage a purse of Rs. 50 Million to the Nepali Congress and also will meet Dahal. In the meeting with Rana, Dahal demanded Nrs. 60 Million. Koirala’s daughter Sujata till then was totally unaware of the deal. One fine morning, a flabbergasted Sujata abruptly landed in the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluatar and threatened her father that if she were not to be involved in the deal to purchase equipments for Darfur Police Mission, she will never return to see her father. Enraged Sujata broke three republican flower vases. New Nepal must have begun to take a formal shape right with the breaking of this flower vase. A frail Koirala, Nepal’s Dhrisrastra- then called Home Minister Sitaula and told him to seek Sujata’s support in the deal. Then enters Sujata’s Bangladeshi son-in-law Ruwel Chaudhary-the undeclared Crown Prince of New Nepal. The contract through Chaudhary was handed over to Sambhu Bharati. Bharati is the local agent of the UK based ‘Assured Risk Limited’ which was later awarded the deal. All three companies that had forwarded the sealed quotations for the deal had links with the Bharati family. So it was a planned affair. After awarding the deal, in the first installment, Rs. 200 Million was withdrawn from the Nepal Police Welfare Fund. Of the total amount, Rs. 150 Million was distributed among the political leadership and the remaining among the topnotch high flying police officials. Later the outdated APCs (Armored Personal Carriers) were purchased on Rs. 35 Million and were meticulously painted with white color. Analysts now ponder over as to why the Republican order was made to enter Nepal? The intent is clear now. Bravo Republican leaders. Keep it up. <span style="background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: transparent; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; font-size: 10pt; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; o
