I come across a lot of Shresthas.
lamopuri · May 1, 2011 6:38 PM
shrestha??
pokharako keto · May 1, 2011 6:38 PM
Not sure, but i heard its Bhattrai and paudel in the order. Definitely not shrestha though. (recently Shrestha surname has gone up as by some reason many newars who used to write other Newari surnames has started writing shrestha giving up their own surname.

It depends. If you take the population, Yadav, Shah, Sharma or Tamang may be the most common surname. Shrestha tops as the most common surname in the list of engineers, doctors and businessmen.

jay-z · May 2, 2011 2:16 PM
@Stiffler: See the shresthas in Udhyog Banijya Sangh, NEA, NEC, NMC voters / members list rather than throwing (?).
