Hello folks, I really need some suggestion on some serious issue that when I take will be a life changing for me in all ways. I am in relationship with a white girl, we have been dating for last 9 months, we started slow but we are in a committed relationship now. She is really in love with me and I can see that. She does every small thing for me and has a very flexible attitude. She involves me in her everyday life, I have met hers parents multiple of time and they seem to like me too. But the thing is I am not really in love with her. I like her and I enjoy her company and I try to be with her whenever I can. She has asked me to marry her. She says I am the one for her and she is ready to spend her life with me. We both are on our early 20s. When she told me the first time, I thought and I said well I think we should wait, I don’t want to get married and end up in divorce and she agreed. But she is still very serious about us getting married. We have our arguments on things and she is very compatible and compromises on things I say.  She is ready to change her ways that will work for us and says she will do anything for me. She is ready to move in together, wheather married or not and I have said yes to that, but iam very confused. I don’t know what I should do. Well about me I come from a medium class family & I am an average college student maintaining my F1 status. I don’t have good grades but still managing to move on towards my graduation. My visa has expired and I have not gone to Nepal for last 3 years and now if I go I highly doubt I will get my visa renewed because of my transcript. So basically if I go to Nepal for whatever reason, I have to stay there and finding a job here is not that easy for me. Still, I am hopeful and trying my best to get good grades and hoping to get a job. I am optimistic person. As everyone else I want a green card too. Life will be easy, better opportunity and going back home and coming here will be easy. I do not have any plans to move back yet and my parents want me to stay in USA too looking at the current situation of Nepal. The thing is I am not being able marry her just for green card. No matter how badly I need it, I am not being able to think leaving any girl after my needs are fulfilled, I  know I will feel really guilty to dump her after I got my green card. So now what I am thinking is I should marry her and hope for the best. If things go smooth then it’s great.  I will talk with my family and everything after couple of years of getting married. (Since we are on our 20s) But if we end up in divorce due to some inevitable situation then it’s all good too. at least I will have green card. And I won’t feel guilty of using her coz I never just married her for green card. I am in catch22 situation. What do you guys think I should do? I am in need of some suggestion. My main concern is Do you think marrying a white girl is appropriate for future? Like cultural differences, our attitude towards sex and relationship coz as we come from different society, all these views are different. Does anyone have similar experience? I am kind of skeptical at times and I think marrying a Nepai girl will be better and it’s more secure relationship than with an American girl, as Americans are so open towards sex and other things.  So I get mixed feelings again....  It's amazing how our Nepalese community selflessly   take out time to answer questions posted in sajha. It' really awesome. There is one thing you have to remember though ,  You can only take advice, but the decision has to be yours. There are few perks in marrying a white girl, and some mishaps. My suggestion for you is  to get as much advice as you can get, but the decision   has to be yours and yours alone-- After all nobody can feel your happiness nor pain, It's only you buddy !

yes the decision is ultimately mine, I wanted suggestion from Nepalese folks, I admit it's a headache to stay in this country with a F1 status, paying high tuition fees, working in gas station and fearing the immigration law changing every day. And after all there is still no guarantee of getting a job and leaving us without a choice than to join a college and pay thousand of dollars. Never been a big fan of that and im sure no one is. I am here trying to get some advice and see things from nepalese point of view. Yes like someone has said somewhere in the thread, i will regert it tomorrow, if i get caught working or in a stage where I have to go to Nepal for some reason as i might not come back and pretty much screwed up , since all my friends are somewhere abroad. With h1 to green card still is the pain in the ass, layoff and all those stuff. As she is pretty good so far, she tries to learn nepalese language, cooks momo and trying to learn more stuff about nepal, i can see she is really serious about me and she tries to pitch in financially everytime.  so what if she starts to show her white attitude in couple of years or after I told my parents about her. That's what im worried about. Divorce is not that of a big deal for americans, if things doesn't work out or they start falling for someone else, they take this option as a easy way out and they have their family and freinds to support them completely and even encourage sometimes. where as us nepalese couples will try to do anything to work things out instead of divorce.  Main thing what I am kinda worried is what if she changes her attitude and be an typical American girl, like thinking alwaz about herself and what is good for her only, most couples here don't even know theirs spouse pin num or can't drive their souple car..you know what i mean..like there is me & u not us....Jus a thought..any suggestion ...
