Guys i have been in US for almost two years and i have not been able to save a single penny to send back home. I have stayed in the same University and i am a Nursing Student. Apply for financial hardship or whatever the crap they call it and drop this thought of mOving to a bigger city or just focusing on work. I swear u will get f'ked up and will do more damage than good. Keep hanging in there, it will be just fine Regards

How long do you have to finish your studies? My guess is 2 more years? Eitherway, study is important. Once you finish it you will be able to send more money home. So focus on completing your studies and stop unnecessary spendings.

Focus on your studies. I am assuming you came here to attain a degree, not to work. When you graduate and get a job, then send as much money home as you can. Nursing is a good field to be in and you will find a job relatively easily. But don't be distracted. Don't ruin your status, your future for temporary, short term gains. I hope your family will understand. I guess this advice is obvious, or should be obvious.
