couldnt you guys just have used PDAnet app to teather instesd of going the root path?

I used to use Pdanet for tethering (Palm Centro), for that I had to use cable. I am not sure if we can use Pdanet to make Evo act like a hotspot!!

Lahure, app like PDA net, easy teather can be used only with the help of data cable, it will work OK but not as good as a router but for a normal user it works fine. Talking about the hotspot, No in order to use as a hotspot you have to have the additional hotspot plan which cost $29.99 a month. I have never used it but some of my co worker said it work great.

Boulevard dreams once your phone is rooted, download Wifi Tether Apps, your Phone will become Hotspot !! This is a back around process so don't have to pay a Nickel!!

This is How you can make out whether you have ROOT Prevliege! [you should have Superuser Permission in your Apps] And For Wifi Hotspot Download WiFi Tether For Root Users! Before Starting of Wifi Hotspot .... After Starting of HOTSPOT

Hmm, nice info lahure, thanks as always. Tell me one thing bro, Since i have already rooted my device, as of my knowledge i already did and i am able to read nepali fonts as well from Opera mini and last time you told me to download wireless teather for maiking hotspot but now when i go to that application and press start teathering, it gives me an error saying Unable to Teather, Is your device "rooted"? So far as i know i think i have already rooted but idk. Since i do not use it a lot so i am not too worried but still good to have it. Thanks.

Cool Max, so can you also use it as a HotSpot, meaning can multiple user access your G2 for Internet via WiFi? Last edited: 26-Feb-11 10:57 AM
