Hi guys. I need some information. I am going to be US citizen soon. After I become a citizen, I would like to file petition for green card for my brother and his wife. Both of them are here as F-1 student. How long is the wait for them to get a green card? Do they get work permit right away after the petition has been filed. GENUINE SUGGESTION PLEASE.

It will take somewhere between 5-8 Years for Brothers or Sisters.   and No they don't get any work permit or anything right away.

backlog is very long...at least 10 years as of we speak.

 yup wait of 9 years is not to get green card, but to get the processing started. getting work permit n others go on with usuall processing times once the processing starts. Hence 9 + years.
