Last night, I was at a bar and a lady sitting next to me asked me which country I came from. I said- "I am from Nepal" and immediately she replied-" Oh Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world". "Obstreperously, I said to her- "you've got limited information and this little knowledge is what made you ignorant... You are just an epithet of American prejudice...". Obviously, she was right on the fact that our country is economically disadvantaged but it struck me as an inaffable and racist remark. Thanks to these people who constantly remind me of my root and enforce me stick to my commitment to do something for the prosperity of Nepal. Please share if you have similar experiences. You fcking making me sick. Everybody knows Nepal is a third world country with a per capita income of less than $400. You should be glad that she at least knew sth about our country. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Be proud of where you from otherwise tell them you are from India or Pakistan or some other country. They will believe you.
