Hello All, I recently got US citizenship. Because of not having sufficient annual income for this Fiscal year i.e $18,212 ,I could not sponser for my wife. National Visa Center returned my application stating," You,as the petitioner, do not appear to meet the mimimum income requirement according to the current poverty guidelines to sponsor the intending immigrant ( that is my wife) for this petition.In order to avoid delays, you may wish to submit an additionalAffidavit of Support ( form I-864) for a joint Sponsor to the National visa Center to assist in sponsoring the intending immigrant."
