All those reasonings are in fact true.  Now would those reasons hold back anyone who is really determined to go back to Nepal?  No.  Definitely not.  But still, fact remains that all those statements are valid.  Let's not judge.

$, car, luxury,  safety n security, no shortage of anything,(basic goods) respect to human being,  job, hot water, beer, hot chicks, whites, Latins, Desi, , cheap chicken, ego, self respect,  self-esteem n, being able to live without any fear of kidnapping, force donation form Maoist/terrorist r just a few to name there r 100s of more reasons .

It is just "money". Wide roads and cars come to close second. Increasingly expensive house in Kathmandu is probably third for those who don't have house in KTM. I don't think there are many nepali in danger of being kidnapped if they go to Nepal. Rather I have met Nepali who are not willing to go home even if they are working in a really dangerous liquor store/gas station.  Nepali have gone to fight a war for British at a time when Nepal was the safest place in the earth. They still go to Afganisthan and Iraq. People like excitement of going out; a continuous eventless life in Nepal can bore even the most lazy man.  Last edited: 16-Nov-10 09:51 PM

It is just because of money. Their family ranks a high class in Nepal if they live in america and may be the second reason is What will they do? if they move to Nepal .., Their place is already Replaced by other Nepales in Nepal and they cant compete with Nepalese............

How about we students just spent 50000-100000 just for undergrad and worked our butts off to pay the fees. How soon can we get the money back in Nepal? Everybody loves their country.

I've heard rumors that the Nepali Govt will enact a provision for dual citizenship. That might make it easier for folks who want to repatriate in flesh when they slowly realize that there's more to life than the 9 to 5 in the US. Top 3 reasons why people don't want to move back. 1) Being viewed as a failure upon returning to Nepal for good. 2) The basic infrastructure in Nepal is weak, albeit its on an upward swing 3) Jobs in America reward you for being honest and hardworking, not always the case in Nepal.  As far as I can decipher, its not extremely difficult to make money in Nepal. I have plenty of friends and relatives who've made good money through business and service ventures without ever stepping out of country. There's a huge demand for goods and services in Nepal because of this remittance boom, hence the returns are high. Hell, even banks give 12% return on your deposit.
