Has anyone heard of this guy? He claims to be on world tour on his bicycle for world peace. Beware of this guy.  http://bewareoflokbandhukarki....   Last edited: 15-Sep-10 12:16 PM Last edited: 15-Sep-10 12:21 PM

I met him once; it's true that he doesn't have a body of athlete. 'Giving' is up to the person and can not be demanded forcefully. I saw his album; he had been in coverpage of many newspapers; that doesn't mean that he's automatically entitled to get the donations.

This Karki guy is a crook. I doubt he rides bicycles to travel around the world. I have met him once and he demand atleast 100 dollars from each person. He does not care for anything less than that. According to him if someone cant donate anything around 100 buck is himself poor. Why should he take money from such person. I heard he threatened Nepalese society chairman to publish false news on the paper if his demands were not met. Beware of this guy Last edited: 15-Sep-10 03:49 PM

Damn, this guy says he spent around 60K+ bucks so far.. seems he does not stay in hotel and dont eat in restaurant.. I wonder how come he spent that much of money..?? I compared his story with that of Puskar Shah.. and I find big contrary.. Physically he does not look like he rides bicycle ,.. lol. And yeah, no offense to anybody, personally I believe this type of act just meaningless..

I think most of these acts are nonsensical and meaningless. If someone wants to undertake such endeavor, he should do it out of his own money. I think a lot of us Nepalis have mastered the begging skill. I once talked to a few friends of mine who are rich and well known for being rich. A friend of mine once told me that he gets 100+ mails/requests/emails each month requesting help in some sort of 'philanthropic act'. A friend of mine once asked me to give money to his school in a remote district. I also have my own root at a remote district, and when I helped my school (I still do) it never occurred to me that I should be begging with another fellow Nepali to help my school. In fact, we all should first help our own school, our own village-- and then start helping others if we are good enough financially. If we all help our village, perhaps there will be some really beautiful villages in our  Himalayas. And I also think it is unfair of those who have no job , no salable skill to claim to try to help others; first one must help himself, his own family--otherwise, those who are claiming to be helping others have ulterior motive of helping themselves.
