evidence: death/suicide report in a local paper

Power_Ranger · Aug 19, 2010 9:38 AM

Everyday, Houston has numerous counts of homicide. A local paper can not include them all.

rukdhell · Aug 19, 2010 9:39 AM

You're wrong. They DO report all suicides.

Power_Ranger · Aug 19, 2010 9:42 AM

I'm not talking about Houston's biggest newspaper reporting on it. I'm talking about local local paper. County paper. San Jacinto paper. In normal situations, deaths do not go unreported.

Power_Ranger · Aug 19, 2010 9:47 AM

Example: Let's say this event happened in Jackson Heights, New York City. I'm not expecting New York Times to report on it (they may). But I expect Jackson Heights paper to report on it. A local paper reports all happenings in it's community, even rape and drunk driving.

Power_Ranger · Aug 19, 2010 9:52 AM

The report should have been in 1 of these 32 local houston newspapers. But it's not. http://www.hcnonline.com/

Guys, calm down. Nobody is blaming anyone here... of faking death etc. etc. Let's not question the "Nepalipan" here too... There already 1500 hard earned dollars donated for the cause in one of the sites. Mostly coming from low income Nepalis. So I leave it up to you to define Nepalipan. What we are trying to get here is facts. We need to know for sure this happened. I am not saying RUKDHELL is not telling the truth, but him talking to his relative cop and narrating the information here hardly makes up for a hard evidence. It might as well be that someone else is using this news, which might be authentic, to take donations for their own scam. So doubts here is completely valid. If someone can post, the current state, eg., where is the body, who is in charge of collecting funds, I too will donate what I can and help spread the word around for more donations. Lack of information is causing people to suspect IMHO, not what some call "Nepalipan"...

milliondollars · Aug 19, 2010 10:13 AM

RUKDHELL, What's the name of the community where the incident happened? You're from Houston right?

Power_Ranger · Aug 19, 2010 10:14 AM

I would be f#####g pissed if this is some kind of scam. I already donated my hard earned money. WTF!

This is what I've got in my email from the President, Nepalsese Association of Houston. Dear friends,   F.Y.I.   The Houston Nepali Community is shocked and saddened by the news of the untimely demise of Mr. Pukar Chhetri, 22, a student of San Jacinto College South on August 10, 2010.  On behalf of Nepalese Association of Houston (NAH), I extend deepest condolences and sympathies to the family and friends of late Pukar Chhetri at their irreparable loss.  May his soul rest in eternal peace in the heavenly abode!   I am keeping in touch with Mr. Kiran Kasti, a long time friend and current roommate of latePukar Chhetri.  According to Kiran ji, Pukar's family's wish is for his body to sent back to Nepal for funeral services and final rites.  Therefore, Kiran Kasti ji and friends in San Jacinto College have set up a Web site with the link http://helppukarsfamily.weebly... urge you to kindly visit this Web site and make a generous donation to make Pukar's body flown back to Nepal possible and his parent's wishes fulfilled.  Your help at this difficult time will count a lot and make a huge difference.   I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Kiran Kasti and friends for taking the initiative of contacting late Pukar's family and making the necessary arrangements to send his body back to Nepal.  My grateful appreciations also go to Gyanshor Shrestha ji (NAH V. This news 100% authentic. I just talked to someone in Nepalese Houston Association... So I am going to ask San to remove this thread.

MillionDollars · Aug 19, 2010 10:54 AM

Rajendra dai is wise enough to come to this decision. If that email is forwarded by him then there is no reason for digging this topic.

raju161 · Aug 19, 2010 10:59 AM

This may sound ironic to be posting here but please STOP posting on this topic as it is now offensive the view the title of this thread... The news is 100% authentic and it is verified by Nepalese Houston Association.

MillionDollars · Aug 19, 2010 11:01 AM

I'm now convinced that the news report is true. Thank you for confirming that our donation went for something real.

Power_Ranger · Aug 19, 2010 11:05 AM

ma_ek_nepali_balak · Aug 19, 2010 11:14 AM

Has somebody found out whether this is fake or real?  If this is real, ppl should be serious. Where are this guy's friends? Don't they have any information or authentic verification? WTF?? If this is real, we should all donate to send his body back home otherwise send these guys to jail.
