This is an evidence that land price in Kathmandu is unaturally high. A house that is worth $1.5M generates only $1200 per month. The mortgage in US alone would be in the upwards of $7K to $8k . For a house worth over a million, you should expect atleast $3K to $4K in rent. I am not saying your house is priced too high, entire real estate in the capital is unhealthy high.

If i were supposed to buy a house in Nepal, looking at the present context (Water, Electricity, Pollution, Crime and Expense) Kathmandu would be the last place i would choose.Period.

I wish Beedby goodluck but I would rather rent in Kathmandu than buy any day... A friend of mind is renting a house for Rs 40,000 per month and the market price for that house is 2.0 Karod. That comes to 2.4% per anum. I guess people pay that kind of money in the expectation of house price rise. Prices are already over extended and there is limit to everything.
