Hey Folks. I was wishing to visit while in India. Do you think I'd be better off visiting India from India or landing in India itself? Also, my passport has expired. So if I were to land in India, what document will I show?

If you have too much luggage, it will be better off you go home and drop off you luggage, apply for renewal of your passport and plan to visit indian.

Nah man. I'm gonna have a laptop, some clothes and that's about it... I'm also thinking about doing some shopping while in India....

First of, if your passport has expired, u will not be allowed to leave the departing country. It would be better to land in India and then visit wherever in the country u want to visit instead of landing in Nepal and then visiting India.

Birodh, US would be more then happy to allow who ever wants to go out of US ..it dosen't matter whether you got a valid passport or an expired passport. they dn't giva a damn.. even if u have I-94 record or not.. People here are good @ farewell but welcome..make sure on your way back to US, you should have a Valid passport and for any other people.. atleast 6 months valid passport.... as for india they won't check whether ur passport is valid or not coz a smiple citizenship card of nepal works for the verification @ the port of entry...but as you are travelling from US.. they might seek your passport for the arrival stamp.. dn't know why u want to land india first, you might have your own reason which i dn't care about.. but i would suggest, go home (Nepal) first relax and travel light to India..( its that country where, one indian dn't believe another. Boston, Like I aforementioned, I have plans of going to India for a visit. ( for about a week ). Websites like makemytrip.com offer really cheap flights if you were to fly into Delhi, Mumbai or somewhere else. Since I won't have a lot of clothes, electronics etc. the customs won't ( hopefully ) harass me. It will also save my time. All that said, I'm still undecided. I was gonna renew my passport here but I thought I'd wait till the new passport were introduced.
