Hi All, I am currently in 17 month OPT and working in my field. I did my Bachelors degree in engineering. Can I take my Masters Credit without taking a new I-20? I want to get admission in Masters Program but I am worried if my OPT will be canceled. I don't want to take full time classes rather 1 or 2 class at a time. Thank you.

While you are on OPT for the above-mentioned program,                  you are NOT authorized to take classes in a second or new degree program.  (even non credit classes)

if you can prove that the classes are pre-requirements for the Masters degree you are applying for, you can take it. You can take a few classes. I have done it in the past.

I am in the same boat sathi. Thinking about going back to evening classes and full time ,not sure how it works.

register urself as a non-degree seeking student and don't exceed 6 credits a semester...and keep rolling guys..... buy the way, don't allow ur university to issue a new I-20...stop them just in case they might want to do so. u don't need to show any financial documents or anything, just show ur opt card and u should be fine.
