to all the IPHONE gurus out there: I am a little far behind in these things. I am using an unlocked iphone 3G version 3.0.1. I paid somebody to unlock it. I am using it with t mobile and already have Cydia in my phone. So how can I upgrade to a ver 3.1.2 and unlock it. If I just upgrade to a newer firmware from itunes would my phone still be unlocked or do i need to unlock it again coz I am assuming it restores to the original factory settings. Is there any way to backup all my contacts? STEP BY STEP instructions or link would be a great help. Thanks

-First got to http://tysiphonehelp.com/?page... is a link iPhone (3.1.2/7D11) from where you can download iphone 3.1.2 version (BUT remember ever never upgrade it from itunes directly). -Put that downloaded file on desktop -If itunes open hold on the Shift key and click Restore -Then locate the file that you have saved in desktop(Remember Hold shift key) -Click Restore Wait for a while -In the mean while download Blackra1n.exe from http://www.blackra1n.com/ -Click your version either Pc or Mac -Download it to your desktop -After your restoration process ends,run Blackra1n which will jailbreak your iphone. -Blackra1n will now install in your iphone -Open Blackra1n and install cydia -then install snow Probably you should have your iphone updated to 3.1.2 unlocked NOTE: AGAIN DON'T MISS A STEP AND NEVER UPDATE FROM ITUNES DIRECTLY,REMEMBER TO HOLD SHIFT KEY.GOOD LUCK!!!
