When I was a student I used to buy stocks, I think u still can. U will need a broker or a brokerage firm to buy stocks. Goto Etrade or ameritrade site and it will explain everything. You have to pay a commission everytime u buy a stock depending upon the firm.

You cannot buy stocks without paying commissions. There are plenty of online discount brokers that you can use to buy stocks. I use Zecco and Tradeking. Check out the link below. http://www.stocksnewbie.com/wh...
