Trying to buy handgun for the first time. I have permit and everything. I was just wondering which one to get. Some recommended Glock, while others have good things to say about 1911 style handguns. Any expert recommendations?

don't buy, proven by math, the probability of gettin shot is way high if you own a gun., then without owning. Be smart, safe u and ur family.

Thanks Raju161, is there any special reason why Taurus? Do you own one?I looked at the features and for a compact handgun I have to say the features seem quite reasonable with the price. However the gun seems pretty lightweight so I'm wondering if it very effective in action; I mean the recoil and stuffs.
