Who are the Gurkhas? Let's discuss anything about the Gurkhas here in this thread. Can put up pictures and video that will add more interest to the people and help to those who are presenting about these unique elite frighting force from Nepal. One of my American student was overwhelmed by the total dedication of the Gurkhas he met them in Iraq and in Afghanistan when he was sent to the mission. He told me that he had never met such perfect soldier in the world. Here's a video of these Gurkhas fighting the Taliban.

The spelling or name got stuck, as they always say:Gorkha (Nepali) --> Gurkha (British)Here are a few more examples:Indira Ghandi (Original Muslim name) -->Indira Gandhi (Converted to Hindu name to capitalize on MK Gandhi's political clout in Hindustan)Kathmandu (Nepali) --> Katmandu (Hippie version)

in my opinion Nepalese do not seems to respect Gurkhas but others do as seen in this video.

Its not actually respect. What do you do when someone fights your unlawfull/politically incorrect war under you(without even being indirectly involved in the conflict) and gives his life  as canon fodder for the mere fraction of sum which ur actual native soldier gets paid. YOU NATURALLY ADMIRE THEM!! and we nepalese feel proud at doing that. The advantage as hindi/urdu speakers is just a joke.dont they have enough indians/pakis/afghans in the uk for that? What would you choose bro-a 1000 pound job for killing people or a 150 pound job for laying bricks in the arab desert.I`d prefer the later. I m only proud of the gorkhalis as the protectors of their motherland some 200 yrs ago.
