Canon XSI dslr! I guess it costs you under $700. I have one too and its the best one!!!!

i suggest you to go slr rather than dslr. Slr camera gives a more of a vibrant picture. Also the pixels are comparatively high. Also its more fun to go the slr way.

For entry level it really doesn't matter, all of them have similar features but the Canon Rebel XSI is better then Nikon D3000 and Sony A230.
