If you are thinknig of working off-campus to cover your expenses and fees for a PhD program, then that might not be such a great idea.

i would have considered these options: - Phd with full CPT - Phd with stipend..(is better by a long way) I wouldn't dare to go for Phd as i did my masters i.e. working in stores AGAIN..! By the way, there is one uniersity in CA which gives you CPT from the day you join. Tuition is also cheap around $5500/ yr. regards

its good to go for phd if you do not have other better choices. It is very easy to get financial assistance after a semester or two. It is pretty much sure that you will get financial assistance lateron. moreover, phd will sell you wherever you go.

phd without some kind of assistance and some kind of subsidy on tuition is really a bad deal. it's worst then being a slave. do more research. if you are a student and want to pursue PHd, you'll definitely find many universities that will offer you the admission with some kind of assistant ship

Absolutely a horrible idea, unless you are talking about ivy-league University (in which case it is doubtful).
