in summer, it is not compulsory for an international std to register as a full time student, so you can register as a part time student and work outside...or even if you are planning to be fully dedicated to work, ask ur university, they might be offering some special courses like online courses... this way u will be on status as well as u will be working off campus..

He says that it must be 12 credits and I should be in school. Before he said that I should not take any summer courses and can continute from fall. I just skipped my Residential Assistant position and other jobs because of this break. Now I cannot continue back in even if I come back this spring. My advisor really dumped me in deep sh*t. I have recorded all the conversations with him that I did all these because of his suggestions. Should I sue him or any other suggestion?

I think that is the rule. If your are taking both semester then in between summer registration is not required but if you take a break you just can not come for summer and not be in the school. you can offcourse come back for fall. But offcourse there might be way around - anybody?

Devil ..  i told you so in your previous thread as well that you had to take the Summer classes.. you should have thought that.. now what you can do is.. just let it be.. i am not ur DSO.. but.. my suggestion is that.. you go nepal.. come back with 12 cr hrs I-20.. then after you come back enroll in 6 Cr hrs.. About your residential thing.. i m sorry got no idea..  again Point to be noted.. I  am not DSO.. so.. please consult with others as well..

bro...first off all why do u want to take a semester break...if  u know that u r going to be in deep shit...why not dump the idea of taking semester break and return the ticket...u might loose $400-$500. Or just go to nepal and come back before the semester starts....then u r out of your deep shit..

wait a minute...did u record that with the consent of ur adviser or without..if u recorded without his consent and he doesn't know that he was being recorded, then even telling him that you have his recorded conversations means u r in even bigger deep shit...as far as the suing goes, on what basis u r going to charge him...he doesn't have a written agreement with you that he is supposed to be 100% correct in his suggestions/advices... there is no such agreement between you and your adviser....he could simply say "sorry" that he had thought otherwise...next, no lawyer would be willing to handle such case...bro u will easily loose thousands if not hundreds of dollars.

Come back after summer for fall semester and you should be fine. The only thing is if you have not registered for Spring semester you can not stay in USA during summer without becoming fulltime student. If you want to come during Summer you have to get into summer classes.

Devilwithin bro I dont think there will be any problem with that. My friend had takena semester break and been to Nepal. He didnt register for classes in summer aswell. I had a talk with my advisor ( i'm quite close with her ) There won't be any difficulties with that. I think your advisor said that because of lack of  knowledge. I'd advise you not worry but enjoy the trip.
