This is my situation: I am currently in H1 working for an American company. My husband has a valid H1b from an American company too. I want to change my status from H1 to H4. I want to know- How long does it take to change the status to H4? Also, do I need to work until my status is changed to H4 or I can leave the company when certain stage in the application is reached? why can't you spend $80 and talk to an immigration lawyer instead of posting such sensitive issue on sajha?or go to immigration forums like Murthy.com and post your issue there, i think that would be much better.
