What is your computer, most new computers have recover partition inculding dell, some other like, HP, Toshiba provide you a free CD if you called them with your computer serial number Good luck PS if not You can always use Ubuntu 9.04 or new 9.10, and thats pretty cool, i'm loving this

There serial number is label back of the laptop for Visata. Also, there is tag and you can calll to the supplier, directly they will provide the key as well.

use magic jelly bean software to find the Keys. In XP you can find it under Registry but in vista its encrypted. but this will retrive those keys installed on your PC. http://www.magicaljellybean.co...

thank you everyone for the reply.I have dell PC. It was under 1 year warranty which expired last month. The tag at the bottom of the laptop is unreadable  (I can read only 10-characters out of 25). I used the Magic Jellybean and it gave me a product key but doesn't match with the any of the 10 characters I could read on the Vista tag. So I couldn't trust it.  Guchcha Chor

if comp is running now back them up now and press F8  , or Ctrl+F11 (or just F11)in some models while its booting u will get a promp screen to reinstall in original factory setting

.Here is what I would do. Step 1: try Magicjelly bean or other software, use the key to see if that will validate the windows Genuine (advantage).  http://www.microsoft.com/Genui... if that does not work. Step 2: Try and contact your device Manufacturer, or bestbuy if you got it from them, may be they can pull it up from your device serial number. etc.  If this does not work.. Step 3: Contact Microsoft they will provide you with key replacement. There may be a fee. ( looks like its $10, not sure though) http://support.microsoft.com/d... Hope this helps.

use Wubi installer and try free source like Ubuntu its free so you get offfice for free called open office that has word processor spreadsheet and others also has software to watch cd and dvd for free and free cd burning software let me kow if you are interested and willing to switch

Thanks for everyone for rigorously replying. Still didn't get answer for the specific problem I have (except: from yellow). I just want to know HOW TO RETRIEVE PRODUCT KEY for Windows Vista home edition and Office 2007 Ultimate which are ALREADY INSTALLED AND WORKING WELL. Just wanted to keep them with me in case I have to reinstall them. And  I misplaced the original CDs while I moved out last month. magic jellybean or other keyfinder didn't gave me right key.......
