So, an hour ago, when I opened New York Times, I saw an article about Nepal featured on the home page. I took a screenshot, and wrote a blog post about it, and now when I opened Nytimes again, it was already taken off from the homepage. I have the screenshot in my blog - http://www.rednepal.com/2009/0... And the article about Nepal is here at Nytimes http://travel.nytimes.com/2009...

What deletion are you talking about? If it's the front page Nytimes thing, I guess they change the featured articles at certain intervals.

Online NYT often carries stories about Nepal. Prob this is the second or third this month and these stories are featured article. These features are often relating to someone personal experience rather than a stories produced by a local correspondent.  NYT changes article probably in less than an hour time, whatever there is an hour ago will not be there an hour later, unless it is related to the G20s, Iraq, Iran, Afganistan and Pakistan. Dont feel bad. if you keep on tracking NYT daily, you will know their sorting and prioritizing of news/articles/features etc.
