1)  period of validity of the obtained IELTS score to apply for PR in Canada (say, one received the IELTS score on November 2009, when will it expire?) search in the cic site 2) how much one should score minimum in each band (listening, speaking, writing and reading) to apply for PR in Canada? depends on the profession u are in. if u are applying for chef, then u need general skills, if u are a professor, u will need damn good score. 3) if you are offered a job from the employer in Canada (and you are residing out of Canada at this time), is there any rule in Canadian-PR like "in Australia - employer sponsored PR"? there is, but sponsoring/offering company must get the approval from labor board that the position could not be filled by canadian resident and needed a foreign worker to work/teach.  it costs some money/time/labor to company. that is why most do not want to do that. 4) If applied for PR from INSIDE Canada, how many months (approx.) will the PR process take (say u have job in hand and working for the employer)? prs applied from inside are processed in buffalo unless u re like spouse/family category pr applicant. so, it wouldnt make much difference between applicant from usa and from within canada. 5) if applied from outside, how many months will it take? it depends on the location/load. the longest in india/london (about 2 years) and fastest in poland/brazil.(couple of months).. check the cic website. there is a link for this thing.

Thx. ------------------------------------ Dear copycat, any idea for this case: if one is offered a position that could not be filled by Canadian resident and needed a foreign worke, in that case, what is the best way to proceed with PR: (1) apply for PR asap after commencing work with employer in Canada ?  or (2) request the employer to sponsor for PR in Canada  ? (3) any other option? Thanks again.

as i heard, while filling up the forms for labor market opinion from labor board, there is a section where they ask if the company wants to sponsor for PR-ship. so, if the company fills that part and gets the approval then you should be fine. since the company would have immediate need of labor, in most cases, you would probably be given work permit to start serving the company while the PR gets processed. again- this is what i heard. request for sponsor after u start working.
