Hello all, I just finished my schooling ( Bachelor's in Finance ) from MN and I'm moving to Bay Area in 2 weeks time. I'll be living around Berkeley area. How's that area as far as job market is concerned? I'd appreciate if anybody could shade some lights on this regard. Also, I'm a cricket enthusiast. Any opportunities of playing cricket in that area? Thanks in advance.

Okay dude, i will not suggest you to move there. I lived in Berkeley for two years. During that period i never had money.... All the money i was making was just enough for rent and food. Pay rate is very bad.. And please dont talk about job market. There are lots of punjabi and mexicon... so it is very hard to get job....I will be surprised if you find any kind of job. And it is impossible to find the job related to your field of study.. Dont be excited dude.. if you have no strong reason for moving there then please don t move there....I am speaking from my experience......

Appreciate your comment man but I'm not excited or anything. As a matter of fact, I've spent a month down there and based on that, I can tell that it is damn expensive. Still, I'm moving there coz I have to ( personal matter ). Finding a basic job shouldn't be a huge issue but finding a job related to my field of study? Hmmm..

With a degree in Finance, New York would probably be a safer bet as far as getting a job is concerned.  I am sure you know that. But if you have to move to West Coast, I assume you will have better luck finding Finance related employment in San Francisco than Berkeley.
