We have written an article (in the process of publishing) with respect to the US recession and its impact on immigrant workers. As a follow up to that article (if you want I will personally email you the article), we have been suggested to include the real Nepalese experiences. So, we are seeking help from Nepalese who have been or not been affected by the current recession for potential employee and current employee. If we get some significant sample size, we would be grateful.   We will guarantee your anonymity.   Survey questions for Job seekers:   Name (optional): Email: Is it OK to contact you? Age: Male /Female: Field of study: e.g. IT, Finance, Medicine, Biotechnology etc Level: Bachelors, Masters, PhD, MD, DMD Year of graduation: Have you applied for a job? To how many potential employers have you sent your CV/Resume? How many response you got? Have you applied to any institution with TARP money? How many have you got call back? Was the position you applied got filled “internally”? Was the position you applied was “no more available”? Did you apply for any academic position? Expected salary: Are you willing to compromise with the salary? To which extent are you willing to compromise your salary? Were you asked about your visa status/permanent residency /citizenship? Are you being sponsored for your visa/ permanent residency ? Were you denied because of need to sponsor for H1B? Did you get a job in your related field? If you do not get a job, what are your plans? How will you maintain your visa status if you are in non-immigration visa? Are you in OPT? Any comments, feedback etc.    Survey questionnaires for currently employed what is your field of study? Did you get the job in your field of study? Are you currently in OPT? Did your employer sponsore for H1B? Did you receive salary within the norms? If you had to compromise with the salary what percentage did you compromise? How long did it take to find a job? Were there any applicants with similar qualifications and also permanent residency or citizenship? Is your employer “hiring” or has “freezed hiring”? Do you expect raise any time soon? Do you expect to be promoted any time soon? Will your employer increase your salary if you get promoted? If you were promoted, did you get a raise? What was the percentage of your raise? Are there lay offs in your institution? What will you do if you are laid off?
