Some are funny but not all are. Whoever wrote this definitely want to make fun of nepal too. here are some explanation but i got tiered to write all. Ganjha is cheap in most of the undeveloped country and you can find it without difficulties. SO why it is hilarious? 2. Not every people smoke with babajis, even if they used to smoke among friends. 3. It’s not hilarious to have currency knowledge. And of course every country people will know exchange rate of their currency with other currency with which they are exposed to or with top world currency. It about your general knowledge and is not hilarious. 4. It’s not hilarious to know name of the world landmark in your language. Actually it is hilarious if you don’t know that it is called sagarmatha. 5. Being jobless or in search of job is totally not hilarious. It is due to lack of available jobs than the available candidates in the market. 6. Staying with parents, you have to look things from the perspective where it is suited or where it is originated. Analyzing things out of context definitely looks hilarious but it makes commenter looks pathetic as s/he seems not to have idea about cultural diversity. Even in developed country people stay with their parents when they are in need of money or when they need to take care of their parents. 7. Supporting china over India due to the fact that India interferes a lot with your internal issues than china. This happens at family level too, if somebody interferes too much in your family definitely you don’t like that people. So is it hilarious point? 8. Again, eating rice two times a day, you have to look at things within its context. How about eating burgers all the time? Isn’t that funny then? So try to think within context. It all depends on what crops are available or grown in that place, economy of family etc. I don’t think it is hilarious. 9. &nbs

I simply love that name.) 19) you can sing with tight ties around your neck and can dance with the suit blazer still all-buttoned. 20) you have made a pilgrimage to Ocean City, Maryland at least once in spite of it being a geographically far-flung place.

damn harikancha! you actually countered all those points! you must be a busy man ;) Humor has no judge. You fail ;) You know you're Nepali if * You raised your hand in class to ask the professor if you could use the restroom. * You've taught the words "M*ji and Maa Ch*kn*" to your non-Nepali friends when they first asked you "Can you teach me Nepali?". * You feel more comfortable hanging with sri lankans than with the indians. * You know what himtel is. And you also know how much it sucks but you use it anyways because its the cheapest. * Towards the end of a phone conversation, there are lots of uncessary but mandatory 'laaahs' signalling that the conversation is coming to an end. (ex: "laah ta laah. laah. laah. laaa laa. huss. bye") * You look towards the horizon and miss the familiar outline of hills and mountains. * You think the roll-on deoderant is the greatest invention ever. :D * Sometimes subconciously scratch your crotch in public and scare the good cultured people around you. * You have special memories of McDonalds and its McChicken burger. * You realize how essential turmeric (besaar) is. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Some Movies 'Facts' You know you are a Nepali when your vivid memories of Hollywood constitutes of Bruce Lee, Jacky Chan, Van Damme and Arnold. You are still a Nepali when you tell your friends about a movie and keep them spellbound for 2 and half hours, when, in reality, the movie lasted for only 2 hours. Yet, you are a Nepali when you listen/watch English songs/movies and realize that it was the original song/movie which is ditto of hindi/nepali songs/movies you had already heard/seen. You are a Nepali when you had filled yours friends' autobook about a favorite movie/actor/actress/band with a case being you had not listened/watched any of their work.

Chomolangamaa = sagarmatha ( It may not correct spell), they name it later. Original name is CHOMOLOGMAA.

(..continued from somewhere above..) You know (realize) you are a Nepali when ... 21) you either deliberately ignore the presence of a new fellow Nepali or stare at him/her as if a ghost has appeared before you. 22) you necessarily have to incorporate "Everest" for the name of your new business venture. 23) you think preaching to a youngster is your duty for the big brother should have rather heeded the saying "Take my advice I am not using it". 24) you fail to recognize humor that reflects facts and/or is meant in good faith. I didn't know that before you revealed yourself.
raju161 · Jul 29, 2009 9:25 AM
am shocked. not necessarily this applies to all the good people of Nepal. the only reason Nepalese go to Patel brothers and hong kong store in Jackson height is that they don't have walmart in most places in New york and most of the people living there don't have a car either. Ofcourse when you return back to Nepal, ur relatives want to know wat it's really like living in the US. Only reason we follow these believes is because it's wat we've been exposed to from early life when we were in Nepal. Some of the points were really admiring. . All of this things are cultural shock people experience first when the come to United States. But the way Guarcha started every thing first he really talks good stuffs like momo and Sagarmatha than starts talking abt acchi and bad smell. wats he really upto. Is he proud to be Nepali or is he really making fun of each one of us. By the way does any one know, will the US army recruit F1 students. the situation in middle east has completely changed. US is winning the war.Nepalese in Britain have strated to get Citizenship there and pensions, I wonder will we get the chance to get in the Army here. Ofcourse, we know a lot of Urdu and we can be good translators. We could be a good use to the Army. But am loosing my hope, they already have thousands of Puertoricans and mexican wanting to be in the army, i wonder when will be our turn.

(..continued from somewhere above..) You know (realize) you are a Nepali when .. 25) the beast you know gets a beauty (courtesy of arranged marriage). 26) your family thinks once hitched the couple will stay together till death do them apart while sheep have stopped obeying the shepherd and the "praja" has quit being governed by the Raja right before your eyes. 27) you are generous beyond your means. 28) you are a player at every little gathering at "chautari"s which is completely consumed with political talks since the year 1990. 29) one of your parents has bagged a college scholarship for you through illicit means. 30) you accept corruption and bribery at all levels of government bureaucracy as a way of life because you empathize that salary alone is not enough for them to sustain a living. (To make it enough such officials should go back to ancestral village and plow the fields while children attend government run schools there. What is enough? Get a view from Bernard Madoff versus a librarian who left for charity a tidy sum of hundred thousand dollars she saved by carrying lunch box to work every single day of her working life).

You know you are Nepali if - You know more rock bands name than proper American You spend more than your income You eat whatever you like You don't care about your religion You are all rounder You know more about USA than your own country Nepal You watch both bollywood & hollywood movies but reject Nepali movies You like to speak broken english than own Nepali You forget your own identity You sacrifice yourself for your breadgiver You love or hate both big neighbors India & China You always think if Nepal will be occupied by India or China You hate Biharis (North Indian State)
Stewie-FamilyGuy · Nov 22, 2012 11:45 PM
you know you're nepali if you - don't mind raw shit/sweage flowing in the local rivers in your neighborhood. - don't mind nearly 12 hours of load-shedding/power outs each day, and yet take pride of Nepal being the second richest country in the World in terms of hydro-power. - keep your house clean, but never bother cleaning an inch outside your house. - play loud speakers anytime. - take pleasure at your neighbors' misfortune. - keep up with corrupted politicians. - keep up with high inflation without much inclrease in wage/pay.
sajhaguy69 · Nov 23, 2012 8:15 AM
Really long and lame. I lost it after #4. Here is mine -You know you are Nepali, if even after 10+ years in US you like to be known as Bahun, Newar, etc before being known as Nepali and fight about your race all the time. -You gather with your friends on Friday night with a Beer and bitch about Nepali politics but don’t want to go back and do anything. (That includes me too btw). Last edited: 23-Nov-12 09:46 AM

There was a long list like this one about the same subject (list) in one website long time ago where I also contributed some. That website is long been shutdown. Here I remember few and some are mine. 1. When in a restaurant (in hometown esp.)with someone, look at the menu for 15/20 mins and finally end up ordering either momo, chowmein or fried rice 2. Everyone thinks superior to themselves whenever in a gathering. Tries to talk international politics and development. And tries to correct others in all topics even if he/she has little knowledge on that topic. 3. Fights break out in all Nepali gatherings (anywhere in the world) after drinking some alcohol. Most of the fights starts relating to girls. There were lots...I will try to remember more.
darjdai · Nov 24, 2012 6:22 AM
You are Nepali if you stare at another person speaking nepali frequently - in mall, public transportation etc.
mno · Nov 24, 2012 1:53 PM
Actually, 42. If you hear the word free you go there even if it is free tampons. If its free you will take it. I found it applies to most Americans Actually.
