Lucknow: The Indian authorities have expressed concern over Sunday’s incident when a group of Nepali Vidyarthi Parishad activists — a frontal organisation of Maoists in Nepal — damaged three pillars on the Indo-Nepal border in Shravasti and hoisted Maoist flags inside the Indian territory. Since then, district magistrates of Shravasti and Balrampur have spoken to their Nepalese counterparts and called for prevention of such incidents in the future. They have also been asked to ensure better coordination between the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and the Nepal Police. “The pillars will be repaired after getting permission from the government,” said Amit Gupta, District Magistrate of Shravasti. He said a report on the incident has already been sent to the state government.
