Hi Quagmire, What is the purpose ? If you want to share views and reviews why don't you start first ? If you want old reviews there are lots of them in Sajha. Just search them !

Hmm good point Mullpaani. ( wtf - why has Sajha banned the word m aal ) ? I've heard that Nepalese embassy is pretty efficient. Just wanted to hear your thoughts on it.

Quagmire · Feb 15, 2009 9:23 AM

no, its not. how - u can tell from this - of other million mistakes, they even changed the gender of my friend from male to female!!!go figure their efficiency.

darlagdo_manche · Feb 15, 2009 9:28 AM

Actually their efficiency is more than 100%, i will say 150%. My passport expired and I applied for a new one. Not responding any calls is not a new tradition, but what they did is added a middle name in my guardian's name which should not be there. The name should be first and last only but they added the middle name too, so their efficiency is 150%

BTW I'm talking about Nepalese Embassy in US

Sharp · Feb 15, 2009 11:12 AM

hahahahaha

quagmire · Feb 15, 2009 11:54 AM

i am talking about US based nepalese embassy too.

darlagdo_manche · Feb 15, 2009 12:10 PM

The land an embassy stands on, is considered legally to be a territory of the country it represents. The Nepalese Embassy holds that thought quite true..coz the way they operate seems as if they have the workings of a government office back home and not the proper standardization of a one that represents our nation here in the US. i lost my passport once...as due process...i sent em' all the required docments....the application for a new passport along with copies of my old passport, my nepalese citizenship..a police report...evrything... 3/4 months later i get a call from the embassy..and from the tone he was speaking to me...the "Hakim" saab seemed to be interested in interrogating me... He asked me the usual stuff name..address back home..dad/mom name...citizen ship no..etc..which are all reasonable...to verify my identity..no complains there... then he went to ask me more..and he did not do this in a very firendly tone..he was rather rude.. he asked me questions like where i lived...who i lived with...what the names of the friends i lived with were..if i worked..if the friends i lived with worked..where i worked..where my friends worked....!!!##???!! i am there thinking...what the F does all this have to do with me getting a new passport?? but that's not all..at the end of the conversation he advised me that my case would be on review and that it would be a few more months before they verified more intel from back home .. soon i meet a Nepali brother...apparently, it seems he has a relative working at the embassy...i tell him about my problem..he make s a phone call...i get my passport in a week..BAAM-just like that!!!.....without his help..i wonder how long it would have been before i'd get a passport. So yeah, in traditon of the way a Nepalese administrative body works, i say they are quite efficient...

Oh forgot to write one more thing about one of my friend's incident. They first mis-spell his name and used "TIPEX" to correct the name. What a great way to correct name in the passport. After all it's a tradition from back home.

Sharp · Feb 15, 2009 4:08 PM

Hmm. It appears that not too many has had pleasant experiences with the embassy. Who all work there by the way? Who's the ambassador? I heard that the ambassador is actually working somewhere else too?

Quagmire · Feb 15, 2009 5:38 PM

Any other personal experiences?

Quagmire · Feb 16, 2009 4:25 PM

Uyarich !!   Man he was inquiring about work because he want to know, how much you make, maybe he was looking for the part time job/or for his wife or kids..its barter..he will issue a passport find him a work..hey guyz @ the end they all are politically nominated rather then on merit based..country i live if you meet any of the embassy people you will keep wondering how the hell this dheads going to deal with high official and ministry of the country..nepali embassy bhaneko kunai revenu banaune ...large scale trade support milaune hoina...khane ghumne bato ho neta haru ko puchar lai...try giving them a bribe if you want ur passport asap... Man you need to wait for a while..maybe not in our lifetime to expect anything good from our politicians,beauracrats..and public servants so forth...man its a shame ...attending seminar meeting abroad is just an oppurtunity have a holiday with bonus paid..and reward for being puppet of politicians..so as geting a job in decent country is another reward no fcken productivity what so eva
