Arriving on F-1, but attending different school

Say you arrive in US on a F-1 visa and I-20 from a certain school, can you change and attend a different school as soon as you arrive in the US, if you have an I-20 from the other school ready? How do you change your info in the SEVIS system because that will have your original school's info? Has anyone done this before? Can you do this when you apply to change of status from B2 to F1 also ?

Few months back, somebody had a same problem and as far as I could remember, the suggester said "yes" so you might wanna go thru all the threads one-by-one heheee, if possible.....So, good luck!!!

Your new school will update ur changes in SEVIS.

yeh! You can go straight to the university u wanna join. Transfer the sevis from the university u have been registered. I had helped a guy having such case. No need to wait for any months or semester.
