I jus started watching CC2C and in the very first minutes when they try to introduce INDIA...they say as the birth place of BUDDHHA.... How come a film that is been internationally produced by Warner Bros...can do that.....This film would be watched all over the world and it is the shame to our country NEPAL that we cannot do anything for that... I will just request you all to ban this film

Hi Cricket fan, Don't worry, if my day- dream can become true and I can make able to make international film. I will say Taj Mahal is in Nepal.. Tit for tat. In fact, I don't like Chadni chowk, they sell alot of second hand book and so on on sunday.. And Warner Bros have lack of study, or the data that he has is obtained from secondary source. Do not go after such stupid films.

nepal is controlled by india, most of the world think nepal is a part of india...most indians think nepal is part of india...so whats the big deal here??? i know "officially" we are not part of india yet but give yourself 5-10 years and you shall all be travelling around the world carrying india passport!!!!!

sunset_blvd · Jan 17, 2009 4:41 PM

Hahaha .. reminds me of the time when everybody thought Hrithik Roshan had said some shit about Nepal and there was curfew and tear gases and all that stuff ... lol ... its pathetic how we let such miniscule things get into ourselves ... i have downloaded the movie and will be watching it tonight, no banning nothing for me

freak_alien · Jan 17, 2009 4:50 PM

Before the movie starts it says " All characters in this film are fictitious and bear no resemblance to any person living or dead. Any similarity is purely co-incidental." So I would say  no need to worry. The fact that they say India as a Birth place of Buddha is also fictitious.

hyperthread · Jan 17, 2009 4:56 PM

I watched this movie today and even I felt bad about this. But seems like this issue is created by Gautam Buddha himself. Siddartha Gautam was born in Nepal but he got buddhism in India. I don't know why Siddartha Gautam went to India for meditation... May be those days there were no border boundaries between Nepal and India, or may be that time those places were not even called as Nepal and India.... I am not history expert.... But definitely it hurts us Nepali when we hear Buddha is born in India.... Sad thing to hear for we Nepali....

Thanks Darlagdo_Manche Lets all of us give comment on that WB's comment box and try to force them to remove that line from the movie. We all should at least drop one comment on their website. Its the matter of our National heritage. Indians have no right to do these types of things.

Finally nepalese are doing something in now... 'Chandni Chowk to China' fumbles in Nepal, protests over Buddha remark By IANS | January 21, 2009 Kathmandu, Jan 21 (IANS) "Chandni Chowk to China", India's first made-in-China film, has angered Nepal for its erroneous references about the Buddha. Enraged students Wednesday tore off the posters of the romantic comedy at Kathmandu's best-known Jai Nepal cinema and the furore caused authorities to shelve the screening of the film. The protests began over a comment in the film that the Buddha was born in India. Born Prince Siddharth, the founder of Buddhism, the Buddha was born in Lumbini, in present day southern Nepal, which draws thousands of visitors every year. Before its release on Friday, the film was vetted by Nepal's censor board which asked for the offending scene to be removed. The Jai Nepal cinema was screening the movie with the cut ordered by the board but the word got around, triggering public anger. The protesters are also asking the Maoist government of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' to take up the issue with the Indian government. Protests are not restricted to students. K.P. Pathak, a member of the Nepal Film Development Board as well as chief of the Nepal Directors' Association, has urged Nepalis to boycott the film, the Dainikee.com website reported. "This film projects wrong information," the website quoted Pathak as saying. "We are asking the audience to boycott all such films." Directed by Nikhil Advani, "Chandni Chowk to China" is co-producer Warner Brothers' second Hindi film and casts Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. source:http://www.allbollywood.com/ne...
