It was comparatively warm morning in Cherry Hill, NJ.  I was on my way to work when I saw that Citgo gas station on Marlton Pike was selling regular gas for $1.52 per gallon (cash rate).  Since my tank was only quarter full, I decided to fill it up there. A jovial man connected the hose.  He had brown face with Tibeto-Burmese features.  Not as dark as most Indians, but also not as fair as most Chinese.  .  Late 40's to early 50's, I presumed.  Could he be my fellow countryman, I thought. When he came up to my window to collect the payment, I asked him where he is from.  "Nepal, sir." He replied, with a big smile. "Oh, I too am.... mo pani ta Nepali nai ho..." Not particularly extraordinary event.  Perhaps too ordinary in some parts of the US, say in Queens or NoVa or Somerville.  But I don't think you run into another Nepali in south Jersey every other day.  Anyway, I am happy to have met a fellow countryman this morning. Good start of the week, in my book.
