After so many years, I found this tele-serial 'Ujeli' in Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?... Ujeli was one of the best tele-serials made by UNICEF which dealt with the child marriage system. I remember this serial was quite popular that time as it depicts the normal lifestyle of people of villages and the prevailed superstition and culture of that era. "Ujeli" has successfully portrayed child marriage, having babies early jeopardizing their health, notion of not providing even basic schooling to girls, child labor, gender inequality and the discrimination towards minorities. Still the education remains a distant dream for girls in some rural parts of Nepal and families are reluctant to invest in their daughters' education. Hats off to UNICEF for making such beautiful and realistic image of our society. Thank you "gyanguru" for this blog.
