If they get away with this, Congressional Democrats would then have the chance to use the lame-duck session to pass a massive “omnibus” bill that keeps President Biden’s bloated spending plans in place for another year—even after the midterm elections which could result in a change in Congressional leadership. We can’t let that happen. The next Congress in 2023 should decide next year’s policy agenda, and the spending that will fund it—not Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer in 2022.
