One way of doing business that has gone out of fashion was this: You as a business intentionally send merchandise to people who never asked for it. Then you ask for payment, usually a lot more than the merchandise is worth. Some people don't know what to do, don't know how to return the items to you, and when you send a bill and threaten with lawyers, they don't know what to do and pay. That's what the FTC site covers: In this situation, you have the right to just keep the merchandise without paying. Knowledge about this has been going around a bit, so you can see why this has gone out of fashion. But the other situation is that a business is selling stuff legitimately. Someone (not you) ordered merchandise and paid for it, and due to some mistake the merchandise is sent to the wrong address. That's a totally different situation, and you have absolutely no right to keep merchandise that was destined for someone else. Cicagoen when u see your truck in a prking lot , u dont go behind and see the tag to make sure its really yours koz u know its yours same with these amazon deleveries when it comes to mah door i assume its mine specially when you have more than 2 packages commig every day.

Some thing happened to me yesterday. My package was delivered to my neighbor door. Now he is denying there was any package left in his door when obviously i had seen the package when i passing his floor and also can be seen in the pic from amazon delivery that clearly shows his door mat and the package. I knocked on door few times, didn't get any response so called the apartment office next day but he completely denied any package was left. Anyway it was 10$ Phone holder i thought of letting it go. I got my refund and ordered new one.

I don’t know what kind of community you guys live in where next door neighbor takes your package just because it was delivered to them by mistake. I have had neighbor 2 blocks down bring my stuff one time because it was delivered by mistake. My next door neighbor and I regularly return stuff mistakenly left at our door, respectively. Very sad to see people being so myopic and taking stuff that does not belong to them. Karma will get you ultimately.
