Their plan B is updating the registry to around 2010. That’s not going to help a lot of Nepali people unless they move it closer to 2020. Also, I doubt the parliamentarian will allow it and since Dems don’t have(thank Manchin and Sinema) the votes to nix the filibuster, I don’t see real reform coming anytime soon. This is really unfortunate though. I recommend people to look for other more permanent options including moving to Canada if they have enough points to qualify under FSW.
