Can you have your employer file for green card while in TPS? Or do you need to be in H1 status? Come march registration period for H1b starts. If you submit your registration on march when will it be approved(if you are lucky)?

Can you have your employer file for green card while in TPS? - Yes given you do not have any out of status before landing in TPS. If your employer willing to sponsor for greencard why bother to go via H1 status.

I was on TPS and my employer tried to file H1B, I did not get the lottery. Then they filed for green card. I am now glad that I did not get H1B. Please don't bother with H1B if your employer is filing for green card. Last edited: 13-Jan-21 08:45 AM
