If Trump wins, TPS is officially ending and Nepali people are expected to leave by March 5th 2021. For students, they can always apply for OPT/H1B before graduation.   For TPS people, they would need to speak to a lawyer and see if they can try to change their status legally- sponsored by job or through family/spouse. it takes time.  We will know on November end about TPS.  Last edited: 26-Sep-20 04:40 PM

In most countries visas are not permission to stay in country, they are simply permission to travel to that country and seek entry. The immigration who lets you in decides how long you are going to stay. So as long as you are within the period of stay allowed to you, you are good. The validity of the visa does not matter. And yes Trump administration looking to change it unless u are a hot model willing to sleep with him or have enough money to buy your way in through other ways or in case of sexy in sari she is just one of those like trumps wifey... Some people find jobs, some apply asylum, some get married, some are lucky to even get selected for DV lottery. You see there are so many ways to get Green Card legally. So why are you worried about this new (and perfectly valid) change in law? I don’t see a reason why anyone should be worried with this. Many Nepalese who were out of status got lucky because of the earthquake and got TPS which eventually helped them get GC. Why did you not think about this then? Why did you not plan for this day?

International Students Future is not over. After graduation, you can still apply for OPT and H1B and get greencard sponsorship through job. If the new rule is implemented-->International Tourists cant over stay and international students cant go back to being illegals and working for cash jobs after graduation.

I like the other proposal as well which is every International Student must deposit up-coming semester fees similar to escrow account, in this case, International Treasury Services ( ITS.gov) which is under U.S. Department of the Treasury. For example, if your per semester fee is $9000, then you have to deposit 4 semester fees( 2 years deposit) into ITS.gov account. And schools can directly collect with ITS. This proposal is in very early stage. BUT I AGREE 100 PERCENT. NO MORE STUDNETS WORKING AT GAS STATION. PAY AND FINSH YOUR STUDY AND GO BACK TO NEPAL, TO BUILD NEPAL BETTER.
