Ambrosia, I was flying to Sierra Leone via Amsterdam from US in 2014. Next leg of my flight was AMS to Brussels and to Freetown. The immigration officer didn't let me go to the next terminal in AMS to fly to Brussels because I carry Nepali passport. I had a good job, had US PR but the officer was not convinced. Please consider that it's been five years- things might be quite different.

Nepali Passport and Tourist Visa to USA ---NOT Qualified to travel in Europe Nepali Passport and US Green card---NOT Qualified to travel in Europe US Passport----YES Even you are GC and Nepali passport, and you at USA with decent salary profession, they ask detail including hotel book, insurance, in person interview etc. I do not think so its easy to get transit visa to see around in Europe.

If just transiting through the airport and not going outside the airport, then transit visa is not required.
